RAM Analysis
Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) studies are recommended for projects during design phases, as well as existing plants. RAM evaluations are oriented towards the optimization of design in terms of achieving a balance between the capital cost and production losses due to unavailability.
The development of the reliability and availability model of a plant considers the real statistics from the plant, based on the history of failures and probability data from the existing equipment and reference database like OREDA, (Offshore Reliability Data) and Average Time Between Failures (TPEF in Spanish), Average Time for Repair (TPPR in Spanish). The model is elaborated following the process flow diagram from the plant for the reliability blocks.
